"Persevere" from James 1:1-16

A little knowledge about the book of James, he was the half brother of Jesus and brother of John and James was one of the servant of pillar.
Now for the Sunday Bible study topic.

Who invented the sewing machine?

Barthelemy Thimonnier (1793-1857)
Barthelemy Thimonnier was a man of French descent whose father was a textile dyer of Lyon. Barthelemy learned the tailoring trade after he was forced to leave school due to financial pressures. Many of the villagers were weavers and he noticed what a short amount of time was required to weave a fabric on a loom, compared to the painstaking work of sewing a garment by hand. He wanted to invent a machine to do this work. His village also produced a type of embroidery called point de chainette, in which a needle with a small hook was used to form the chainstitch. It was Thimonnier's idea to use this type of hooked needle and produce the stitch by machine.

Ignoring his tailor shop to the point where his neighbors thought him crazy, Thimonnier worked secretly on his invention for four years. In 1830 he received a patent on his machine, which produced the chainstitch by means of a needle shaped like a small crochet hook.

By 1841 he was successful in having eighty machines in use sewing army clothing in Paris. But the fears of the tailors could not be quieted and the machines were destroyed by an infuriated mob. Thimonnier was forced to flee for his life, and he died penniless in England.

At first the people laugh at him with that invention but he continue to persevere. And until now sewing machine is a useful tool.

Persevere means to maintain the effort.

For the trials in our life, instead of asking "why me Lord?"
We must ask, "Lord what are you teaching me?"
James 1:4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything

If we continue to run we will win the race.
Climbing a mountain can be difficult but if we think of how beautiful the peak, it will give us endurance to persevere.

If all of us will have no temptations or problems then we would be weak and fragile. God own everything, He may give and take away but still blessed be the name of the Lord.

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Sometimes we are easily angered and forget to trust in the Lord, just ask for His help.

James 1:6 But when he ask, he must believes and not doubt because he who doubts is like wave in the sea blown and tossed by the wind.

We shouldn't be like sponge Christians, while listening to the word of God we absorb and in good times we will Praise the Lord, but when the sponge is squeeze that is "in bad times" all the word of God we absorbed are all washed out or thrown out.
Receive and apply His words.
By perseverance the snail reaches the ark.

Human have more ability than the snail to move on.

Proverbs 4:26 Put away perversity from your mouth, keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

Repenting is changing in everything from sin. Change our lifestyle. Change our way of thinking.

Pastor Message

1 John 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defens -Jesus Christ the Righteous One

The Bible will keep you from sin and sin will keep you from the Bible. But thank God even if we sinned Jesus is our attorney who never loses in defending our case with that we will not be punished.

Nice Christian Life Experiences
