Be Careful with Your Tongue from James 3 One thing about the tongue is that, it is the smallest but the largest trouble maker. And so we must be very careful using our tongue. Example of encouraging words are when you say thank you, I'm sorry it's my fault please forgive me, but the discouraging words are bad words, accusing the person, any hurtful words that can torn the heart. Be a model of using words for example many of us must be a teachers, and be a good example in using words. 1 Peter 5:3 Not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. If someone will evaluate what's our primary sin it would be our tongue - because we can easily gossip someone, and we all stumble with our tongue. Even if we don't like to be discipline God will do so; discipline ourselves against sin to made new in attitude of our mind, as Christians we are runner of race, if you have excess baggage you won't be able to run fast, throw off excess baggage like sins to run fast. There are two lines of sins: 1. Commission like lying, stealing etc.. 2. Omission like laziness to pray etc.. Draw off the sins and get back to the Lord. Our problem is not time management but hunger management like "I don't have time to read the Bible and pray because I'm busy at work". Devotion is when you pray and never cease thinking about the Lord. Let us run with perseverance => endurance. Discipline yourself . In order to discipline ourselves we must fix our eyes to Jesus not on the things of this world. Don't get destructed, Jesus is our example. Discipline ourselves to submit to God's word. Receiving grace is freely and not to complain. Is there anything to do for God to give us more grace? The answer is no. Its not what you do or memorize Bible verses... would these what God wants us to do? Ask and pray for it. Check our heart and motives; Nobody can see it except the Lord. We have to be careful make sure you are doing from love and faith and not earning from God. We all are sinners saved by grace, we can't look at all our achievements and awards. Remember where we came from. Let God lead us and guide us in life never say I'm going to do what I want to do. God is going to lead us where it is good for us. Not that there be anymore trials and problems but those problems is going to mold us to lead us for better life. God give us grace we don't deserve. Let me share a little about my life... I was born physically normal, for some reason it started at the age of 5, I couldn't walk properly and my left foot keeps on hurting, I had a biopsy at Makati Medical Center the result were due to nerves abnormality... To cut it short, I stopped school at the age of 11 that was grade-5 and it was around that age for the confirmation in Catholic, but I wasn't able to attend... Ever since I stopped school "isolation" was my friend, always at home and suffering from health problems due to my left foot is getting worse and worse it affected my life sociability... I was hopeless physically but never mentally, my dad encourage me to develop my intellectual capabilities, he taught me some computer troubleshooting and DOS programming language... and I read my brother school books... I have faith that someday, somehow I will finish my studies have a normal life... but that time I was physically imprisoned, at home for 10 years continuous...

"Have a Soft Heart" from Hebrews 3:7-19 An example of why we need to have a soft heart : Water is a substance that can be soft, in which at room temperature (tama-tama lang between hot and cold) water in the swimming pool is very good to swim at even if you jump in the pool you won't be hurt because water is soft... but if the water is hard as in frozen (too much coldness) in the pool with thick ice, when we jump we might get hurt and couldn't swim in it... And so the message of God in the Bible is the same but it is the heart that determines if we accept it or not, if we have a hard or soft heart. Because of disbelief we will have a hard heart, we would complain and worry about the future and money but if we only believe in Lord God's promise we don't need to worry just let God work within us and have a soft heart . Last night was the midweek Bible study in Calvary Chapel, the teachings was really in time for my situation not only in office but also in my faith. “Do not Doubt” 1 Samuel 27 Pastor Ken told us the story of a person with no glamorous clothes, buying 16 cars... This person goes in one car dealer shop when the sales man look at his physical appearance, the sales man doubt that this man could buy 16 cars.. and so he said “I really don't know if I can sell 16 cars right away how about going to the next car dealer shop?” and so he went to the next shop, and he was given 16 cars right away since it was paid in cash he was also given a big discount... the man who bought the cars was a fisherman, and all of them fishermen that had a big catch and savings that they decided to buy cars at the same time so to have big discount. The moral lesson of the story is that if we have doubts good chance of a lifetime can be missed. That was a very nice story about Doubt told us by Pastor Ken. Now...

"Work for your salvation" Titus 3:1 Pastor Ken told us the story of baking a cake, we have to mix the right ingredients to make a perfect cake else it will not be like we wanted it to be... Surrender our will, our future to god and submit to God's control, give the control to Jesus/God. We can not be save by being obedient, go to the church every Sunday but to come to the Lord our God by faith and by mercy of Jesus Ready to do whatever is good (read Ep 2:9) Act and talk like Christians means we have to be concern of others. Every step we make, our relationship is a process with the Lord, ask to yourself where are you today with your relationship with the Lord? for example, a month ago you use to go to the church and practice good deeds but where are you now?... To slander no one, not to listen to any slander it is also participating with that sin. November 5, 2008: “Be Wise Not Foolish” Samuel 25 When I went to the midweek Bible study I was surprise to see all the Christmas decorations in our Calvary Chapel in Obrero. (^_^) The teachings for that day was “Be Wise Not Fools” For example it is fool to live for temporary things And wisdom of this world is foolish to God but the wisdom of the Bible is eternal in short we should study the Bible and learn, so we can be wise to live for God. Living to please God we are to find joy, peace and satisfaction in life. How foolish are we to won something when everything belongs to God? Being wise is to use the blessing for spiritual development Learn to give wisely to others. Quick to listen and slow to speak NOT to give in to anger, and not to give in to emotions. (nako ang hirap nitong gawain minsan) It is wise to be humble than to be proud. Overlook each other faults, don’t be guilty of having revenge. Ask God for wisdom in decisions and choices we make. ~~~
