"Humble Ourselves" from James 4:11-17

There were three women:
The first woman said “when I clean my jewelry I always use expensive cleansers”
Then the second woman replied “I use fresh milk to clean my jewelry” (hmmm fresh milk?) now the third woman said “when I have dirty jewelry, I throw it away”.

Geeesh! How humble she is?

What cause fights and quarrels among you?
One of the problem is fight and disunity; comparing ourselves to one another; our pride.

We need to check our own hearts. The envy will use pride to divide the church.
Faith must have evidence.

Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love

Ephesians 4:24 And put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

I is the center of the word => pride


Pride will kill us spiritually and physically; when you have self pity saying to yourself ____.

If you have hatred in your heart you already commit sin – covetousness – pride.

When asking, ask with right motives to God. Prayers are not getting our will in heaven – it is getting God’s will to us.

Isaiah 1:15-16 When you spread out your hand in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen your hands are full of blood; wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sights! Stop doing wrong.


James 4:17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.

Sin of Omission.

James 4:4 You adulterous people don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.



1 John 2:15-16 Do not love the world or anything in the world if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.


Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

Be a servant but not with selfish intention. Submit our self to God be under obedient and stand/oppose what the world do. God is always available the problem is us we go away from God and do it our way. We need to humble ourselves before God.

Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissensions among brothers.


Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.


Proverbs 24:21 The cubicle for silver and the furnace for gold, but man is tested by the praises he receives.


Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.


1 John 2:17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

Who am I to point fingers at you, I am nothing.

Pastor’s Message

John 3:30 “He must become greater; I must become less.”

We must have more of Jesus Christ in our life and less of our self. But often times it’s the opposite – a lot of our self and our self-centered desires and not as much of Him. Our life as Christian should be a reflection of Jesus Christ. May we become more and more like Him day by day.
