"Learn and Obey" from Nehemiah 8:1-18

Nehemiah 8:8, is a compound memory verse in the Bible.

We all know that junk foods are not good for the body. This is the same when you're with the worldly things, wanting the desire it, these are comparable to eating junk foods. And it will be hard for us to obey God's word because the worldly things gets in the way. It is more relevant that we should be more interested in God's word.

The two main points in this chapter are; in verse 1-12, we should learn God's word attentively.
And, in verse 13-18, we should apply what we learn and want to hear. Now, what we need to hear are the five books, or Pentateuch - the Torah.

We need to desire to hear God's word and this is the commandment of God. "Attentively" means carefully you need to be interested. We must read our Bible and listen attentively.

Revelation 2:29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

These people are supporting Nehemiah in verse 4. One of the Bible Teachers says; No one ever graduates studying the Bible, until you will see the author face to face.

2 Peter 1:12 So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.

Praise in Hebrew word means bharak, which means a sacrifice of praise. Disciple means learner. Jesus is an expert expounding word of God. This is the good thing when we serve the Lord, we may not have the physical blessing but the joy of the Lord will always remain in us.

Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

The fool or stupid usually don't want correction especially coming from God. Booths here is a cottage.

Deuteronomy 16:13-16 13 Celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles for seven days after you have gathered the produce of your threshing floor and your winepress. 14 Be joyful at your festival—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites, the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns. 15 For seven days celebrate the festival to the LORD your God at the place the LORD will choose. For the LORD your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete.
16 Three times a year all your men must appear before the LORD your God at the place he will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the LORD empty-handed:

When we celebrate the goodness of God, it will bring joy to you.

Leviticus 23:36 For seven days present food offerings to the LORD, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the LORD. It is the closing special assembly; do no regular work.

What makes a different, it doesn't matter how much you read Bible but if you dont apply it, it's unworthy. No word, no food. Put first your spirit before your physically.
