"Don't Puff Up" from 2 Kings 14
Amaziah did right in the eyes of the Lord but not as his father David had done. David did commit sins but he was in constant "repentance" - that is more important in our relationship with God, to keep asking God for His love and repentance. We can be good and may please God but for some, do not do it whole heartedly.
Be careful not to do the act of righteousness before man, you will not have treasure in heaven. We must be pleaser of God not of men as God sees what inside our heart.
Be careful with your blessings.
We should not take revenge, leave room for God to take revenge. Whenever we think of revenge it means we have pride in our heart which is wrong. In every relationship we must be careful with pride, and in our relationship with the Lord. Amaziah took revenge of his father.
Knowledge puff up but Love builts up.
Pride goes before fall.
Don't be over confident.
2 Chronicles 25:25-27 25 Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah lived for fifteen years after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel. 26 As for the other events of Amaziah's reign, from beginning to end, are they not written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel? 27 From the time that Amaziah turned away from following the LORD, they conspired against him in Jerusalem and he fled to Lachish, but they sent men after him to Lachish and killed him there.
Abide in the Lord means to be sensitive to Him.
