"Be Set Apart" from 2 Chronicles 29:1-36
Set apart means sanctified or to be holy. One of the pastor from Calvary Chapel was a drug pusher and drug addict until one day he decided to flash it all the drugs in the toilet, for he knew he will use it again... He then choose the right way to repend, to be holy and cleanse his sin.
Hezekiah means the might of Jehovah. Abijah means my father is Jehovah. God's power is our strength, we need God's strength to consecrate ourselves just like King Hezekiah.
King Hezekiah prioritize the 1st thing that is important - serving God. He reform his service to God and repaired the temple. As Christians we are the Levites, that we should serve the living God and to be the chosen generation.
In spiritual speaking we need water, represents the word of God.
Defilement means filthiness or in other word idolatry. Even in our home or in church, we should be careful in doing sin.
The focus on this chapter is to be centered only to Christ in verse 11.
Heman means faithful. As Christians, we need to be faithful even though we are struggling we need to pray so God will help us to be faithful.
The things in the church must be use in God's glory.
To consecrate ourselves we need to acquire the blood, the perfect blood of Jesus Christ. Atonement means from Bible Teacher covering of sin and the word simply means by syllable at-one-ment.
The Law wants the shedding of the blood to cleanse your sin, like Jesus Christ's blood became sin for our sin.
Our burning incense in New Testament or for us now is our prayer and worship God with gladness.
Dedicate meaning wholeheartedly. We should worship God with reluctantly not by force. We learn to be Dedicating, Pleasing, Consecrating and to Burn Incense, offering our lives to Christ should be done quickly.
