"Inward Faith Causes Obedience" from Matthew 17:14-27

Why did the disciples can't heal the people?
Thou they have the faith they were lacked of belief.

We must be aware that the healing is not on physical but spiritual, though we are not underestimating the physical healing.

Faith doesn't come from ourselves but from God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Acts 3:16 16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

Faith that comes through Him - we must be aware that faith comes from the Lord. Remember the story of "the doubting Thomas" he was the only one who doesn't believe that Jesus was resurrected.
Believe and you will see.

Be persistent in our prayer - and continue never stopping - that is faith.

In verse 20: the disciples can't heal the boy because of thier unbelief. Our unbelief hinder what whe wanted to be done. And it is impossible to please God and impossible for God to heal us. (Depending to God's power to heal.)

Matthew 14:30-31
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Slowly but surely we must increase our faith.
Fasting can help us to grow and have genuine faith.

Ephesians 6:18 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Genuine faith causes obedience.
What is impossible with men is possible with God.

We notice in verse 22 the only point the disciples heard was the bad news "Jesus will be killed" and they didn't hear the point of Jesus will be raised from the dead.

Sorrow and grief is understandable but Death is the happiness of the saints.

John 16:22 So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

In Matthew 17:27
Even Jesus let Peter pay the tax and this is the same to us - we are NOT the one who will scrutinize the government if they are corrupt or not. It is more important to be honest and be clear in conscience. God will provide.

Do we commit sin if we have little faith?
Anyone who knows the good but doesn't do good - sins.
It is important that we grow our relationship with God.
Faith promotes peace and intelligence. We are not force but we must abide the law of the land and the law of Jesus Christ. Genuine Faith without doubts.

Pastor's Message
Please pray for comfort and peace for Labor's family, as they face the trials of losing Arnold physically. But still we praise the Lord because Arnold recommitted His life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ before he moved from this earthly body.
And we are reminded that life here on earth is so short but if we have Jesus Christ in our hearts we will live forever and ever in heaven.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present (at home) with the Lord.
