"A Spirit of Infirmity" from Luke 13:10

Luke 13
1st Parable fig tree
2nd Mustard Seed talks about faith

We should know Jesus as we learn His heart.
We can see the physical problem that the people had but only Jesus can see the spiritual problem of all people.

Jesus so many times heal on sabbath that He gets reactions from spiritual leader.

Christianity is not a religion but a relationship with God. Religion is not bad as it is, we must be careful with this statement, religion is something that you do it over and over again you do it religiously.

People get used to doing things over and over again that sometimes it becomes a law. We may not notice we are doing it as we become so depended on repeatition.

Jesus does not want religion but a relationship with Him. Not to become depended on rituals but let our hearts close to His heart.

Sometimes people are so depended to religion that they forget the relationship with Jesus.

Maybe we don't have physical things that criple us but spiritualy we are crippled. We are like the woman who is bend over and it is only Jesus can set us free, we must take a step of faith, Jesus will reach out His hand.

Sometimes we thought of doing the same thing over and over again that we don't want to change.

You will become whatever you focus on.

Jesus wants us to focus on Him and that can only happen if we have the relationship with Him and Jesus does not need religion.

Pastor's Message
Joshua 3:5 Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you."

Last friday I was thinking about ladies retreat. Honestly, I'm a bit worried, thinking that ladies will not respond to the invitation, but God is faithful He reminded me of His word through my readings in the book of Joshua. And God speaks to of thru this verse and reassure me in advance that He will do amazing things for tomorrow. Indeed, GOD NEVER FAILS, HE FULLFILLED HIS PROMISE, the Ladies Retreat was successful, many ladies came and they were Encouraged and Blessed by the message of GOD. To God be the Glory.

"Change Our Heart" from 2 Kings 8

Our life before was we are married in the things of this world but now as Christian we are widow of this world and be married with the Lord.

Whenever we get tired of doing the right things, the acronym for TIRED is:

Tell it to God to
Increase your faith and
Refresh and
Endure and
Do it with God

We must be constant in asking God's Holy Spirit everyday.

To have compassion for the lost.

You don't have to act like Gentiles because the Gentiles like to be in the "position and power" which are deceiving, to be a leader you must be a servant. Whatever ministry we have, we must be careful with our pride.

Zechariah 4:6 So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.

To change our heart also will change our actions.

If we are controlled by emotions (as the heart is deceiving) we can't serve the Lord. We need to be controlled by His Holy Spirit. You don't have to know about bad but be excellent on what is good.

If we have mistakes and failure we need to repent and change.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

"Walk in the Truth" from 3 John 1

Let us not love with words but with actions.

Pray for non-believers that they will walk in the truth. Pray for one another, so that God's words will touch each lives.

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Show Hospitality with each other, the truth and personal walk with the Lord. Be faithful in doing small things, whatever ministry we have we are full time in our ministry - in serving God with all of our heart.

Walking in the Truth is following the right path when we walk God's ways - don't expect that the road will be smooth, don't expect there will be no temptations.

We need to follow directions and be reminded of God's words.

Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.

How do we walk in the truth?
To walk in Spirit you must deny your flesh do not feed your flesh. If you feed your flesh you will be walking in flesh but if you feed your Spirit you will be walking in Spirit.

Be open and friendly do hospitality to everyone even they are strangers

Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Stop complaining and arguing do everything according to God.

Pastor's Message
Acts 14:7 They continue to preach the good news.

In the context with this chapter Paul and Barnabas shared boldly the Good news to the people. But there were some who refuse to believe the Word. The same thing for us, don't expect that all people will receive and respond to the Good news. Many times you've shared to your families, friends, co-workers and classmates but still they rejected it. But I encourage you to GO ON (continue), and remember this: Gospel is like a time bomb it will explode in the hearts of those who heard it at the right time.

"God Will Make A Way" From 2 Kings 7

facing the giants

On this chapter 2 Kings 7 the people are experiencing famine in the land because God was teaching them a lesson.

When we have a lot of problems most of the times we lost hope and think there is no solution, but with God's grace as God He is faithful, God will make a way if we only believe.

If we are faithless know that God will remain faithful. His promise is yes and Amen. We need to claim His promises.

Romans 8:28-30
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

The word "impossible" is not in our Christian dictionary with God all things are possible. Know that God will make a way, as Jesus said "Heaven and earth will pass away but God words will stay" as the kindness of God will lead us to repentance. God wants us to pray all the time for our daily bread, to really cry out to God and to depend on His provision.

Sometimes we have a lot of blessing and we forget to give thanks and Praise. May we continue to be reminded to pray always even on good times as well as bad.

Philippians 2:4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Think about others and lift them out to the Lord in prayer as our nature people are selfish. Recognize our selfish nature, to over come this; we must depend in His Spirit and allow God to change our ways from inside out.

We should not doubt thou there may be temptations in this world. Satan will put thoughts in our mind that might as well give up.

Have faith, we will be rewarded in Heaven.

Always include God in all our problems, cultivate our hearts with God's word.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Do not worry. God is the potter all we need to do is to trust in Him as God knows everything about us even the number of our hair in our body and every area of our life, remember our hope in God is not a wishful thinking.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?

No matter how much you know God's word but if you don't apply the scriptures it is useless. Claim and apply His word.

Know that God will always make a way.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

"Hold On To The Truth" From 2 John 1

Right is right no matter how people are against it, wrong is wrong even thou the people are for it.

Ask more and more of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is like living water

"John 7:38 NIV
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him."

Even thou we don't deserve to be saved but because of the grace of God He saved us.

While we were sinners Christ died for us.

It's so impossible to experience peace if you don't have grace and mercy in your heart. You need to be in the truth. We should have the peace and receive the package from God.

1 Peter 1:23-25
23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24For,
"All men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25but the word of the Lord stands forever."[a] And this is the word that was preached to you.

  • All good and perfect gift are from God.

  • Use your body for God's desire.

  • The foundation to God is to Love. Let us not love with words and tongue but with actions and truth.

  • Walking in Love is being occupied with His love. When you rebuke you should do it out of Love.

Pastor's Message
Acts 11:26c "The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch."

The word Christian means "Christ-like" or "little Christ". When we are called Christian our attitude should be like Jesus. We need to be more like Him each and everyday. As we continue to follow Jesus Christ, may all of us imitate Him and be like Christ inside and out.

Remember that Calvary Chapel is "not promoting religion".

"God is Concern to You" from 2 Kings 6

The background of this chapter is that people are turning away from God. But God is faithful and we will see His faithfulness in this chapter.

When you pray make sure it is in line with God's will.

The first miracle that happen to our life before we became saved is salvation.

1 Corinthians 10:11-13
11These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come. 12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Proverbs 21:30 There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan
that can succeed against the LORD.

Psalm 27:3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.

If God is with us who can be against us?
Be faithful as God sees faithful servants, and will listen to its prayer.

Empty your self before you can be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 5:47 And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

We should love other people as God shows concerns to all His people.

Tearing of clothes is a sign of mourning. If something happen in your life don't blame God. We need to trust God have a mind set on Christ as He said "I will never leave you nor forsake you".

"Be a Child of God" from 1 John 5:13-21

Am I really saved?

Salvation doesn't based on our feeling, as feelings come and go. Knowing it is not our feelings, it is the commitment we have for the Son of God. As long as you abide in Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:10-11 10Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, 11and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 33:3 3 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'

Mark 11:24 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 3:28-29 28I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. 29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is continually rejecting the Holy Spirit, they don't want to receive Jesus Christ.

When you have relationship with Jesus Christ and let the Holy Spirit control you - the evil one can not touch you.

If you are born with God you are protected by God.

Colossians 2:2-3 2My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Meditate on God's word daily.

Pastor's Message
Psalm 5:1 "Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my sighing"

The Lord knows what's in our hearts. Even in our groaning the Lord understands. Every trials, problems, heartaches you are having right now, God knows it. And God will listen to your sighing. Just be like David who cry out to God, and surely He will give ear to your words! God bless.

"Have a Right Heart" from 2 Kings 5

If our heart is not right before the Lord, He will not grant our petition. To have the right relationship we must have the humble heart.

Leprosy in the old days was a sign of sin in the heart. We need to continue to deal with our sin. Only God can cure sin.

1 Corinthians 1:26-27
26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

We don't need to be a Pastor or worship leader to be used by God. We can be used by God whatever our work are just be faithful to Him, the important is we have the right heart before the Lord.

Sometimes we don't follow instructions, a simple statement from the Lord -because our pride role over us. Like Naaman he didn't follow right.
Elisha to wash in the River Jordan to be cleanse from his leprosy.

There is no other God we need to follow

Isaiah 44:6 "This is what the LORD says—
Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty:
I am the first and I am the last;
apart from me there is no God.

Matthew 10:8
he sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

The best way to have a happy thoughts is not to count his cash but to count his blessings.

"Believe in The Son of God" from 1 John 5:1-12

We can't compromise God and we need to believe in one and only God.

There are many chaos these days, if God see us quarreling what will He feel?
We need to show our unconditional love.

Demonstrate your love in actions for the Lord God we need to keep on doing it. Love, obedience and truth.

Love one another people will know you're my disciples if you love one another.

The commandment of God is not heavy. It's not a burden.

2 John 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil.

Romans 8:25;37
25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

John 15:26 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.

Matthew 3:16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.

Anyone who does not believe in Jesus makes God a liar.

Memorize
1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

It is the Connection with
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

And, one of the most important verse in the Bible.

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;

Titus 1:2 a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

There is one thing that God can't forgive you it is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Mark 3:28-29
28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

Pastor's Message

Acts 5:41 "The apostles left the Sanhedrin rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name."

When the apostle shared the Gospel to the people, they did not complain even though many were against them. They have the heart and the passion to share the good news to everyone. May we have same attitude like the apostles, though we're being persecuted and have suffered we will still rejoice in the Lord and continue to share the Gospel.

Happy New Year, Welcome 2010

Love God and Others from 1 John 4:7-21

A man is like a wolf, you can't trust a man, but concerning Christians they love each other even if we don't know each other. Our love for others can be found in one source and that is God.

It is hard to love as by nature we are self-seeking, Eros - shallow love, Phileo - brotherly love, Agape - unconditional love.

Do you love all believers? The perfect example is Jesus, even thou He was on the cross He said "forgive them for they don't know what the do"
The fruit of the spirit are Love, self-control, Grace, mercy

Anybody that says He love God but hate his brother is a liar.

To forgive those people who sins against us.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us
.

What makes not being fruitful in our Christian walk is not forgiving and forget. Not to talk about it anymore.

Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Never count sins of others as God forgive you.

If you Love one another they will see Jesus in us.

1 John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him

If you don't love one another ask yourself, did you truly received God?

Struggling is a good thing but if you keep on hating people then you will reap what you sow.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

Pastor's Message

Acts 4:13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Peter and John were uneducated yet they have the boldness to share about Jesus!
Why? Because they have been with Jesus.
And God has mighty used them regardless of their personal/educational background.
God can use you too! Just make yourself available for Him and spend your time with Him. Be used by God today and always God Bless!
