"Follow the Wisdom of God" from James 3:13-18

Wisdom came from the Greek word Sophia = Love for knowledge

Now, there are two kinds of wisdom:
wisdom of humanity and wisdom of God

James 3:16-18
For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from Heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

The wisdom of this word is folishness

Being wise-
Galatians 6:4
Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in him self, without comparing himself to somebody else.

1 Timothy 4:12
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

1 Peter 3:16
Keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Humility - No man is wise enough by himself.
In wisdom of God - we need to have respect and gentleness.
We need to be on guard in the wisdom of the world.

Be on guard against jealousy - Do not boast have a sincere heart toward others.

If you are proud man you will surely hate somebody get promoted.

Earthly wisdom came from Satan, we have 3 enemies:

  1. Pride

  2. Flesh

  3. Satan

World says "if you are successful, smart and wealthy people will respect you." Which is not true.

The disciples were uneducated but they submit themselves to the wisdom of God But it doesn't mean proffession is wrong, the point - What is more important wisdom of this world or wisdom God?

The Bible teaches us the wisdom of God.

The world will say it is okay to "living in" before marriage but the Bible says wait until marriage.

Sin of ommission is not praying.

When we are doing the ministry there is NO competition.

To be teachable, humble and considerate of others be open minded and full of mercy as the fruit of the spirit is Love

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no Law.

being Submissive = obedient, surrender, it is willing to listen. It is willing to change, willing to listen to another idea, to another thought.

In order to experience peace you must embrace the grace of God; experience grace first to show peace.

Grace and Peace and not the other way around.

Now if you are really wise, you will say I want to follow the Godly wisdom. If you are a fool, you'll say, "Well I'll just go like the world by following worldly wisdom"

Proverbs 19:19 Listen to advice and accept instructions, and in the end you will be wise.

Luke 18:14 I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted

Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

"Be Careful with Your Tongue" from James 3

Be Careful with Your Tongue from James 3

One thing about the tongue is that, it is the smallest but the largest trouble maker. And so we must be very careful using our tongue.

Example of encouraging words are when you say thank you, I'm sorry it's my fault please forgive me, but the discouraging words are bad words, accusing the person, any hurtful words that can torn the heart.

Be a model of using words for example many of us must be a teachers, and be a good example in using words.

1 Peter 5:3 Not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

If someone will evaluate what's our primary sin it would be our tongue - because we can easily gossip someone, and we all stumble with our tongue.

Ec 7:20 There is not a righteous man on earth who ends what is right and never sins.

Be careful with your tongue and discipline it. Make yourself humble. Be quick to listen and slow to speak. Even when people gossip about us we shouldn't respond, tongue is like a spark that can cause fire to ruin everything especially with our relationship.

Col 3:8-9 But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices

= means not to lie.

If your heart is not right with the Lord unkind words will flow in your tongue.

Don't participate with green jokes; don't be famous in that area. We need to have more of Lord God and less of ourselves.

Be careful with expressions not having sense but just irritating the other person; and saying bad words as expressions.

Have a self confrontation with yourself to the Lord - pray. We need to only use our tongue to Praise God; not to curse man. And don't be like a cobra (see its tongue) it has a split in the middle (like a double tongue) - one side use for praising while the other side use for cursing and gossiping.

Our tongue is exclusively use for God - praising God and encouraging man, use our tongue for the Lord.

Proverbs 21:23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.
Proverbs 16:24 NIV Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Pastor's Message
Psalm 26:2 "Test me, O Lord and try of examine my heart and my mind"

We need to check our heart and our mind. We need to examine it every single day. So we'll know where we are at spiritually. Let the Lord search your heart and mind today and allow Him to change it for His glory!

We are fighting against not on physical but spiritual. We need prayers for one another.
Just be faithful on little things. Whatever talents you have if you are faithful God will use you in any big things. Even on our witnesses God can use us.

"Have a Sincere Faith" from James 2:14-26

Pastor Edging told us the story: during his college days, he has a classmate in algebra - she seem to always understand the lessons very well, but when the teacher prepared a problem solving and called out her name, she was so nervous and can't answer.

And so, to have a genuine faith we need to show demonstration not only by words.

Ephesians 2:8-10
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

God already prepare a work for us we only need to demonstrate our faith - the key for everything is the love for our Lord God.

Take a look in your lifestyle, take a look in your conversation, reflect to our self: who am I when I'm alone? Do I pleased the Lord?

Faith alone saves but the faith that saves is not alone.

Even if they are not born again, do good to them - specially in the body of believers.
1 John 3:16-18
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

We need to show our faith and compassion to others. Let's have spiritual inventory in our heart examine our faith.

Compassion means is not only by saying but doing.

Faith without works is death.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Our belief in Jesus Christ is not just emotions we all need to prove our faith - and actions should be working together.
1 John 2:5 But whoso keep his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Life of the Christian is not just saying the right words but also doing it right. Let us practice his words. We are justified if we have genuine faith. We are not save by our obedience to the rituals.

All of us are sinners and should not judge other persons if they make mistakes.
The grace that does not change my life can not save my soul. ~Charles Spurgeon

James 2:26 As the body without the spirit is death so faith without deeds is dead.

Pastor Message
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
May the words that we speak and the matters of our heart be pleasing to God everyday. Let us therefore pray and ask God for help to live a holy and blameless life before Him.

"Worship the Lord" from 2 Samuel 22

What do you want to do in heaven?
In heaven we are going to worship.
And so, the first thing we need to do is to worship the Lord as HE is our defender. When we sin against God, Jesus is our defender and our lawyer.

Jesus is our rock, fortress and deliverer... our shield guard and protector. We need to trust in Jesus. Sometimes we doubt, but we really need to trust in Him.

We need to meditate and think of God as He is available 24/7. He is more than everything we ever need. He is the God that will protect us.
Even in the midst of our trials God is our defender we need to call out for His name, the primary tool of our enemy is to condemn us and brain-wash our mind with the thought of “we are not good enough for God.” Example if anyone will gossip about you, you don’t need to defend yourself.

We don’t have to defend our self as God is our defender. The Lord is our support. We need to realize that God is our support and we can worship Him. People can’t defend for us, people will be use by God to pray for us but our number one support is God alone and we need to trust in God.

God will rescue us. Whenever we accept Jesus in our life, God is happy if we continue our relationship with the Lord. Worship Him for He is our guide. God will forgive our sins if we repent whole heartedly. If we are thinking we are a failure and sinner that will hinder you from worshiping the Lord. So just repent and change your ways. In order to live a blameless life, we need to allow Jesus as our guide in our life. We need to be willing to listen to His words, allow Him to change you and follow Him and take up our cross. We shouldn’t think that we control our self but allow Him to control you.

The labor in our Lord is not in vain

When your heart is full of thought of the Lord you sing praises for Him.

Part of the worshiping the Lord is we need to humble ourselves.
We need to follow Jesus, example of what Jesus routine was to get up early in the morning to worship God, willing to listen. That made Him very good in ministry. In our life the example is like a glove, do you think the glove can function without someone using it? We can be the boxing gloves and let Jesus use us to be able to win the fight. When we realize God words is true and accurate it will help us to worship Him and guide us.

God can arms us with strength and make our ways perfect. We need His words to fully develop our spiritual maturity and ourselves. Worship God for He is the source of our strength.

When you are conscious that we’re always at the presence of God then everywhere you go it will help you not take Him for granted. If we are in Christ no one will separate us from the Love of God. Whenever we are in the battle, God assured us we already won the fight; if only you abide in God. We need to continue our journey with Him.

Many people will call God, but Jesus said “away from me you evil fool.”

The enemy, Satan can’t harm us if we are in Christ. Abide in Christ and maintain the perseverance. Christ is the rock of our salvation and He is our foundation. If our foundation is not based in the Bible we will be defeated by the enemy. Exalt Him as your savior and rock.

We will praise to Jehovah - God, but we are not “Jehovah witnesses” but we’re all Christians who worship God (the meaning of Jehovah).
God is the source of our strength; that created the heaven and the Earth.

"Don't Show Favoritism" from James 2:1-13

A taxi driver who always shows favoritism, the driver doesn't want a poor passanger but only stop by a wealthy looking people. The driver passed by an old lady who look poor and stop by the younger ladies with "sexy and social" appearance, the ladies robbed all the money from the driver and even left him naked.

The moral lesson of the story is to treat everybody with equallity and not to be biased as God didn't show favoritism.

Favoritism is a sin of omission.

Cornelius from the book of Acts was the first Gentile to became Christian and he proved that God didn't show any favoritism.

Remember that, We are not serving men but we are serving God.
Matthew 7:1 "Judge not, that you be not judged."

Prison ministry, visiting the prisoners are hard ministry because they have foul smell, even though we must show compassion and equallity.
Proverbs 14:21 He who despise his neighbor sins but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.

We are serving not in our conditions of our life. Spend time to God not to ourselves alone. Love your fellow christian even though they have different studies.

Favoritism is a sin of omission.

1 John 3:4 Everyone who sins breaks the law. In fact, sin is lawlessness.

All of us breaks the law at least one. How many laws do we have to break before we became law breaker?

It takes only one. But if we confess and repent our sins. God will give us understanding and change our hearts by God's grace.

Psalm 130:3-4 If you, O Lord kept a record of sins, O Lord who could stand?

We are saved by grace least anyone should boast. In our obedience to God - should be in a right way and right motives in sincere/genuine heart.

Grace = gift of God we don't deserve.

Mercy = something you deserve to give as in forgiveness in actions not only in words.

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Pastor Message

Psalm 18:17-18 He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support.

We have to always REMEMBER that our God (Jehovah) is a BIG GOD that will never stop in supporting. May we trust in his power knowing that He can do anything for you and for me.

"Keep your Promise" from 2 Samuel 21

A story shared by Pastor Patrick; during their Pastors' conference, there was a red headed missionary who was a soccer player and fanatic that he would watch soccer in different TV at the same time.
Then he was called by the Lord to serve Him for awhile, and so the misionary gave a promise to the Lord he will not play soccer for 1 year and avoid his addiction to it to serve God. And so he serve the Lord. But after awhile he receive a call from his friends that they need only one player so the game will not be void, he said he couldn't play but he can come just to support them, he went to the field, then quickly his friends changed his clothes to give him the position to play, but he remembered his promise to the Lord and so he just stood there at the side of the field and did not move.

Now the ball went in front of him and he thought "a little kick won't hurt" and so he kicked the ball and he didn't notice he was already playing, he was running in the field and about to kick the ball into the goal when all of the sudden there was a much bigger man that was running over the ball and hit his leg with a very strong kick from that big man and put him to be limp for the rest of his life. And so he realize he forgot his promise to the Lord not to play for 1 year.

People will always asks these questions; Why are there sorrow and pain in our Christian life?

For every pain and sorrow there are joy and healing. For everything we do and happen are part of the balance. And everything we do - there is a reactions. Breaking a rule -someone is going to pay for that, and so if you sin -someone is going to pay for your sin; someone will die and sacrifice. Think of it!

Do you know what the word atonement means?
If you look very closely to the words at-one-me(n)t = the words refer to making one met the other person.

Convenant is a promise. God always fulfill His promise. Let your "yes" be yes and your "no" be no.

When we do the right thing -God will also do the right thing with us.

If someone harm you, love them.
If someone kill one of your family, forgive them. Bad things may happen but if we put it all in God to work with us, everything will be fine.
